ORDERS

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Once your order is confirmed, we can't add, remove, or swap items. If we haven't started on it yet and you'd like to change a size, colour, or your delivery address, email us as soon as you can at hello@weareamani.com with your order number and the change you'd like. If a change isn't possible, we'll arrange a return and you're welcome to place a new order. Cancelling an order means a full refund to the card you paid with.

Where can I find my order confirmation?

Once you've placed your order, we'll email your confirmation and invoice to the address you signed up with. If you can't see it, please check your spam folder. You'll also find it in the "My Orders" section of your Amani account. Email us at hello@weareamani.com if you need a hand.

Can I order a product in a different colour or fabric?Most of the time, yes, though we'll need to confirm first. Email us at hello@weareamani.com with what you have in mind and we'll let you know what we can do.

SHIPPING

What are your delivery times and prices?

Every piece is handmade with care in our atelier in Cape Town, which means each item is made especially for you. For that reason, please allow up to 21 business days for production. We're always working to get orders out sooner, and in most cases your item will be ready well before then.

Delivery options and costs:

  • Nationwide delivery: R100 flat rate
  • International delivery: calculated based on the country selected
  • Free collection: You're welcome to collect your order from **The Conscious Kitchen, **34 Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town (081 521 0967). Please collect within 7 days, after which your order returns to the Amani atelier.

Once your order is ready, we'll let you know with collection or dispatch details, depending on the option you chose.

Delivery time:

  • Cape Town and surrounds: most couriers take 2 to 3 business days
  • Nationwide: most couriers take 4 to 6 business days
  • International: calculated based on the country selected

How can I track my order?

Once your order is packed and the courier is booked, we'll send you a notification with a tracking number. You can follow its progress on the Amani website by clicking here, or on the courier's website. You'll only see updates once the courier is booked, so if your tracking code isn't showing anything yet, your order may still be in production. Email us any time at hello@weareamani.com to check in.

My package was returned to the sender. What should I do?

If your package comes back to us, we'll usually email you to find out what happened. If you haven't heard from us, please get in touch at hello@weareamani.com and let us know how you'd like to proceed (new address, redelivery, refund, and so on). Please note that any redelivery will be at your expense.

RETURNS/EXCHANGES

What is your return and exchange policy?

Our policy is simple:

  • We process returns and exchanges within 15 days of purchase (excluding sale items, underwear, candles, and gift cards).
  • Just email us at hello@weareamani.com with your order number to request a return.
  • Return shipping is at your expense.
  • Refunds are processed once we've received your return and confirmed it's in its original condition.
  • Refunds can only be made to the card you originally paid with.

For a return or exchange to be accepted, please keep this in mind: any item returned incomplete (product label, straps, removable padding, fasteners, buttons, and the like), damaged, washed, or stained can't be accepted, and no refund will be made.

Please note that underwear can't be returned, for hygiene reasons. We recommend following our size guides closely to choose the right fit and avoid any waste.

My item has a fault.

We're so sorry. We check every piece carefully, but very occasionally a fault slips through. Please email us at hello@weareamani.com with a few photos and we'll find the best solution for you.

PAYMENTS & REFUNDS

Is my payment secure?

Yes. Every payment, online and in store, is processed by our partner Yoco, which uses a strict, confidential security system.

What payment methods do you accept?

We're a cashless business and accept all major credit cards on our website and in our stores. Amani gift cards can be used for online purchases only. Please note that refunds can only be made to the card you originally paid with, and we don't refund gift cards, underwear, candles, or sale items.

How long do refunds take?

We process returns within 10 working days of receiving them. Refunds go back to the card used for the order, and we'll confirm by email. Once you've had that confirmation, the refund usually clears within 5 to 10 working days. For a full return, delivery costs are covered by the customer, and the refund covers the value of the items returned with their label and in perfect condition. If 10 days have passed and your return still hasn't been processed, please email us at hello@weareamani.com.

These timelines may be a little longer during sales, collection launches, or busy periods.

How does Amani Period Underwear work?

Amani period underwear absorbs your period and other vaginal discharge. Each pair has a slim design that draws in moisture, controls odour, holds your flow, and resists leaks for up to 12 hours. So you stay fresh, dry, and comfortable throughout your cycle, whatever you're doing.

Is Amani Period Underwear safe?

Yes, and that matters to us deeply. We take your health and safety seriously, which is why every pair is made from natural materials that are kind to your body and the environment.

Can Amani Period Underwear replace my current routine?

Depending on your flow (light, moderate, or heavy) and what you prefer, our underwear can replace pads, tampons, and cups, or be worn alongside a tampon or cup for extra protection. We recommend trying a few styles at home to find your new routine.

How much can Amani Period Underwear hold?

Our Casual style holds up to 3 regular pads (27 ml), and our Shorty style holds up to 5 (45 ml). Our Brazilian style is best for your lightest days, at the start or end of your cycle, to avoid any unexpected leaks. Absorbency varies by style, so we recommend trying each one at home first to see how it suits your body and your flow.

Where is Amani Period Underwear made?

We've chosen to work with a trusted local factory, so we can bring you quality underwear while reducing our environmental impact and supporting employment in Cape Town. Our manufacturing partner shares our values, with a real focus on making products ethically and sustainably, and on looking after the people who make them.

How do I care for my Amani Period Underwear?

They're easy to look after. Made from bamboo and other natural fabrics, they're best rinsed in cold water after wearing, left to air dry, and reused as often as you need through your cycle. Machine wash during or at the end of your cycle, and don't tumble dry, as this can cause shrinkage. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

A few extra tips:

  • If your underwear comes into contact with greasy substances, cosmetics, or perfume and stains, rub the fabric gently with colourless Marseille soap.
  • Place your underwear in its bag before washing, and use a gentle detergent on a delicate 30° cycle with the lowest spin.
  • Our technology is hygienically sound, but we recommend wearing only your own pairs, to avoid passing on any potential bacteria.

How do I know which absorbency to buy?

Think about how light, moderate, or heavy your flow is across your cycle. Our styles come in three absorbency levels, from lightest to heaviest, shown as a number of droplets on each product page. We recommend wearing a pair at home first to get a feel for how long they last for you. As a reminder, our period underwear can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time, depending on your flow and what you're doing.

How do I choose the right size?

Use our size chart to find your hip and waist measurements and the best size for you. We know underwear sizing varies between brands, so our styles are designed to give you a comfortable fit from the very first wear.

Do you have any restocks planned?

Our approach is to make as little as possible, to avoid overproduction and to keep our collections small and special. We do restock a few pieces from each collection. To be the first to know, email us at hello@weareamani.com.

Email us at hello@weareamani.com and we'll check whether it's still available. Send us the name, reference, and/or a photo of the piece you're after so we can help more quickly. If it's available, you can place your order straight after your email exchange with our team.

How do I create an Amani account?

Click "My account" at the top right of our homepage, then click "sign in". On the next page, fill in your details to create your account. If you run into any trouble, email us at hello@weareamani.com.

I can't access my Amani account.

Click "I forgot my password" and enter your email address, and we'll send you a reset link. Do check your spam folder, or email us at hello@weareamani.com with your first and last name and/or the email address you use to log in.
