Clothing that feels as good as it looks
We are a Cape Town fashion label, made for women who believe that what they wear should mean something.
We make clothes for the woman who has stopped chasing trends. She would rather own fewer, better pieces in natural fibres like linen, bamboo and cotton, and she wants her wardrobe to reflect her values as much as her taste.
Everything we make is built to last. It is timeless, easy to dress up or down, and cut to flatter every figure, in all sizes and all shapes, with no judgement. The look is quietly androgynous, and anyone drawn to that ease is welcome here. Our collections stay small and considered, so our production stays mindful rather than mass. We make to order, which means no excess and no waste, and every garment is made for a real person who asked for it. We price honestly too: good clothes at a fair price, never marked up for the sake of a label.
Transparency runs through all of it. We are open about how we work, what we use, and who makes your clothes. Our fabrics are natural and responsibly sourced, our production is entirely local, and we are proudly led by women. If you have ever wondered where and how your clothes are made, just ask. We will always give you a straight answer.
WHO IS BEHIND AMANI
Made by women, for women
Amani started with two friends, Camille and Dana, and a simple question: why was it so hard to find clothing that was well made, fairly priced and consciously produced?
We were not interested in chasing trends or making clothes that asked women to become someone else. We wanted pieces that felt natural on the body. Easy, flattering and useful. The kind of clothing you reach for often because it fits well, feels good and works with your life.
For the first few years, we produced through CMT makers across Cape Town. In 2024, we opened our own atelier in the city centre, giving us the space to bring the process closer. Design, sampling, cutting, making and finishing now happen under one roof.
It changed the way we work. We could pay closer attention to fit. Waste less. Move slower where it mattered. Make smaller runs. Keep the quality personal.
Many of our pieces are released through pre-order, which allows us to make with intention rather than overproduce. It is a slower way of working, and one that stands apart from the speed, waste and constant churn of fast fashion.
Today, Amani is made by a small team in Cape Town: Camille, Dana and Leon, our tailor and maker. Every piece passes through our hands, from the first idea to the final stitch.
No big factory story. No overproduced fashion fantasy. Just thoughtful clothing, made carefully, for wardrobes that are actually lived in.
