We are a Cape Town-based fashion label built for women who believe that what they wear should mean something.

We design for the modern, design-conscious woman - one who is done chasing trends, who invests in fewer, better pieces made from natural fibres like linen, bamboo, and cotton, and who wants her wardrobe to reflect her values as much as her aesthetic.

At Amani, everything we make is timeless, versatile enough to be dressed up or down, and designed to flatter every figure - all sizes, all shapes, no judgment. We embrace an androgynous sensibility too, welcoming anyone drawn to our ethos of quiet elegance and comfort. Our collections are intentionally small, keeping our production mindful and deliberate, far from the noise of fast fashion. We work to order, which means no excess, no waste, and every garment made with genuine care. We price fairly: quality products at reasonable prices, never inflated for the sake of a label.

Transparency is woven into everything we do. We operate with a no-filter identity - we openly share our processes, our materials, and the people behind every piece. Our fabrics are natural and responsibly sourced, our production is entirely local, and our business is proudly women-led. WHO IS BEHIND AMANI

Made by women, for women

Amani was born from a shared vision between two of us — Camille and Dana. We wanted to create timeless, high-quality fashion that helps women feel their most authentic selves. Not through transformation, but through clothing that simply fits who you already are. We saw a gap between quality, affordability, and conscious production in the South African fashion market, and we decided to build something different from the ground up.

After working with CMT producers across Cape Town, we made a pivotal decision in 2024: to open our own Atelier in Cape Town City Centre. We wanted full ownership of our process — from design and cut to finish and offcut management. Having our own space means we are in complete control of our quality, our timing, and our creative direction. It's the foundation that lets us live our values every single day.

At the heart of our Atelier is Leon, our seamstress and designer, who brings every collection to life with skill and care. Together - Camille, Dana, and Leon - we work as a close-knit team toward one shared vision of what fashion can be. Every piece you wear from Amani is handmade by us, in Cape Town, with intention.

Frequently asked questions

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Once your order has been validated, it is not possible to add or delete items or to modify one model by another.

If your order has not yet been taken into account by our logistician and you wish to modify the size/color of an article or your delivery address, contact us as soon as possible at hello@weareamani.com indicating the reference of your order and the modifications to be made.

If unfortunately the modification is not possible, we invite you to return the article and we will invite you to place a new order. The cancellation of an order implies the immediate refund of the total amount of the order on the card the payment was issued from.

Where can I find my order confirmation?

After validating your order, you will receive a confirmation email including the invoice on the e-mail address you registered. Feel free to check your spam if you can't find it directly. You can also find the report of your purchase on your Amani account, in the "My Orders" section. We are also available at hello@weareamani.com to help you.

I am looking to order a product but I would like it in another colour or fabric, is this possible?

Most of the time it will be, but we’ll still need to confirm with you. Please email us at hello@weareamani.com with your request and we will let you know what we can do!

What are your delivery times and prices?

All of our pieces are handmade with care in our Atelier in Cape Town, which means each item is made especially for you. For this reason, we kindly ask customers to allow up to 21 business days for production.

The good news? We’re always working to get orders out sooner, and in most cases, your item will be ready well before the 21-day period.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been packed and the courier has been booked, you will receive a notification with a tracking number. You can follow the progress of your order from the Amani website by clicking here, or checking on the courier website.

Please note that you will only be able to see the progress of your order once the courier has been booked. If you cannot access the information from the tracking code, your order might still be in production. Please feel free to email us at hello@weareamani.com to confirm with us or to notify us of anything of importance.

My package has been returned to the sender, what should I do?

Your package is returned to us, we will most likely email you to find out the reason why. In the event that you haven’t heard from us, we invite you to contact us at hello@weareamani.com with the next step you would like to take (new address, new delivery, refund, etc.). Please note that any new delivery will be at your costs.

What is your return/exchange policy?

Our return/exchange policy is simple and straight-forward;

We process returns and exchanges within 15 days of purchase [excluding sales, underwear, candles and gift cards].
Simply email us at hello@weareamani.com to ask for a return with your order number.
Be aware that the return shipping costs will be at your charge.
The refunds for returns will be generated after Amani received the returned product(s) and confirmed it is / they are in its/their original state*.
The refunds for returns will only be possible on the card you previously paid with.

*For any return/exchange, please respect the following elements in order for your request to be accepted and for your refund/exchange to be made:

- Any item returned incomplete (product label, straps, removable foams, protective tab, fasteners, buttons, etc.), damaged, washed or stained will not be accepted. Thus the refund will not be made.

Please also note that any underwear cannot be returned for sanitary reasons. We strongly advise you to follow our different size guides in order to choose the best model for your needs and avoid any product waste.

My article has a defect...

We are absolutely sorry for this situation! Please know that we do our best every day to offer you products of impeccable quality, nevertheless it can happen that a part has a defect or a fragility and that we have missed it. We invite you to contact us at hello@weareamani.com and send us pictures. We will be able to offer you the most suitable solution.

Is my online/shop payment secure?

The banking transactions made on our eshop and in store are processed by our partner (Yoco) which offers a strict and confidential security system.

What type of payment do you accept?

We are a cashless establishment, and we accept all major credit cards on our website and in our stores. Amani gift cards can only be used for online purchases.

Please note that refunds for returns will only be possible on the card you previously paid with. We do not refund gift cards, underwear, candles or products on sale.

How long does it take to get my money back?

Your return package will be processed within 10 working days after receipt*. The amount is refunded to the bank account of the card used to pay for the order. The processing of your return will be confirmed by email. From this confirmation message, the refund will be effective within 5 to 10 working days.

For the complete return of an order, the shipping costs will be charged to the customer.

The refunded amount corresponds to the amount of the products returned with label and in perfect condition.

If after 10 days, your return has still not been processed by our team, do not hesitate to write to us at hello@weareamani.com.

*These delays may be extended during sales, collection launches or busy periods.

How does Amani Period Underwear work?

Amani period panties are underwear that absorb your period and other vaginal secretions. Each panty is made with a patented, ultra-thin design that absorbs moisture, controls odor, soaks up liquid flow and resists leakage up to 12 hours in a row. So you stay fresh, dry and comfortable during each of your menstrual cycles, no matter what your activities.

Are Amani Period Underwear safe?

Yes, and we are proud to say that this is one of our primary concerns. We take everyone's health and safety seriously, which is why all Amani Period Underwear are made from natural materials that are healthy for the body and the environment.

Can Amani Period Underwear replace my current routine?

Depending on your flow (light, moderate, heavy) and your desire, our panties can replace pads, towels, tampons and cups, or be worn with tampons or cups for extra protection. We recommend that you try our different styles at home to develop your new routine.

How much liquid can Amani Period Underwear hold?

Our Casual panties can hold up to 3 regular pads (27 ml), while our Shorty panties can hold 5 regular pads (45 ml). We recommend using our Brazilian panties when your flow is weakest, at the beginning or end of your cycle, to avoid any unintentional leakage. Our absorbency levels vary depending on the style you choose. We recommend that you try each of our styles for the first time at home to see how they best fit your body and your "flow".

Where are Amani Period Underwear made?

We have chosen to partner with a competent, local factory to bring you quality products while trying to reduce our ecological impact and promote employment in Cape Town at the same time. Our manufacturing partner is a true production expert who matches our additional values by prioritising the ethical and sustainable development of the products and their working environment.

How to care for your Amani Period Underwear?

Amani Period Underwear are easy to take care of. Made of bamboo and natural fabric, we recommend rinsing your panty under cold water after being used, let it air dry and reuse it as many times as you need during your cycle. Machine wash during or at the end of your cycle, do not tumble dry to avoid any shrinkage. Do not use any bleach or aggressive chemical to clean your panties.

In addition to these, here are a few things to take into account;

- In case your article has been in contact with greasy substances, cosmetics, or perfumes that have caused stains, we advise you to rub the fabric with colorless Marseille soap.

- We recommend you to put your article in its bag before washing. And to use a soft detergent for a machine delicate in 30° with the weakest spinning.

- Although the technology of our panties is hygienically optimal, we recommend that you do not use any other panties than yours in order to avoid any involuntary transmission of potential microbes.

How do I know what level of absorbency to buy?

To determine which Amani Period panties are right for you, consider how light/medium/heavy your flow is during your menstrual cycle. Our models have three levels of absorption, from lightest to heaviest, represented by a number of droplets (found on each product sheet).

We advise you to use your panties for the first time at home to gauge your sensations and to understand your optimal use time. As a reminder, our period pants can be worn for up to 12 hours in a row without risk of infection, depending on your flow and your activities.

How do I choose the right panty size?

We recommend that you use our handy size chart to determine your hip and waist size, and the best panty size for you. We understand that underwear sizes can vary from brand to brand, so all of our models are configured in some way to ensure that you always find comfort when you first buy.

Do you have any restocking planned?

Our environmental approach is to produce as little as possible in order to avoid overproduction and to offer you unique small series.
